Channel Manager

The momentum behind virtualization will continue to drive the evolution of cloud services. Failure to adequately address the news security risks and compliance considerations associated with virtualization will result in more stalled virtualization initiatives, more “material deficiencies” discovered during audits, and more compromised virtual environments. vCenter fails to adequately address the security and compliance requirements that have begun materializing as organizations virtualize Tier 1 and sensitive (ex DMZ, PCI, SOX, HIPPA) applications. The acceleration of virtual desktop initiatives and use of 3rd party contractors further complicates matters due to the need to extend access rights but limit privileges of individuals administrating these environments.

The Channel Manager will manage field engagement aspects of HyTrust’s partnerships, with primary focus on sales revenue and lead generation. The role will balance sales support, partner management and sales training with specific focus on growing the sales pipeline.  The Channel Manager reports to the VP of Sales.

    The Channel Sales Manager will be the Liaison between the HyTrust Sales Team and Its Channel Partners and will be Responsible for:
  • Meeting and exceeding assigned bookings targets while adhering to HyTrust’s rules of engagement.
  • Establishing productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned partner accounts.
  • Driving partners to maximize revenue and realize partnership potential through sales best practices, training and support.
  • Coordinating the involvement of company personnel, including support, service and management, in order to meet partner performance objectives and partners’ expectations.
  • Communicate with partners on new product offerings and roadmap.
  • Create systems and procedures to streamline partner management.
  • Work with marketing to drive programs and events to support partner efforts.
  • Providing weekly reporting of partner activity, including use of SF.com.
  • Keeping abreast of competition, competitive issues and products.
  • Managing potential channel conflict with other company sales channels by fostering excellent communications internally and externally, and through strict adherence to channel rules of engagement.
  • Defining and executing partner sales plans.

    Experience Required
  • Five years experience in managing channel partnerships; experience with VMware, CA Technologies, Cisco, Intel, McAfee, RSA, VCE and/or Symantec a plus.
  • Eight years experience selling enterprise software.
  • Ability to manage pipeline with multiple partners.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proven track record building out partner programs at emerging technology companies.
  • Proficiency with SF.com.

Job DescriptionHyTrust is seeking a technical writer to create user documentation, knowledge base articles and API documentation for one or more of our products. This is a contract-to-hire (20 hrs/week) and an on-site position based in Mountain View, California.

    Responsibilities
  • We expect the candidate to work independently to gather information directly from software developers and support team to write complete manuals from scratch.
  • The writer should be prepared to gain in-depth product knowledge through hands-on experience.
  • In addition to typical documentation tasks, the Technical Writer will be asked to do the following:
    • Install and use the product to better understand the technical issues that need to be documented.
    • Work closely with the development team, attend regular SCRUM meetings, and represent the interests of the writing group.
    • Review and suggest improvements to developer-generated content in the form of documents, demos, videos, and so on before the material is provided to the user community.

    Qualifications

    Candidates should have:

  • 5-7 years technical writing experience with an eye for details.
  • A good understanding of programming concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills.
  • FrameMaker, Visio, Acrobat familiarity.s
  • An ability to act as a writer, editor, and peer reviewer.

Experience in the following is not required, but strongly desired:

  • Either educational or practical experience in Java, Perl, Shell Scripting.
  • Knowledge or experience with VMware vCenter, ESX(i) Server and Nexus 1000v.
  • Knowledge or experience working on routing protocols, TCP/UDP/IP, policy routing, L2/L3 planning.
  • Knowledge or experience with XML and Agile SCRUM process.

    The Director Public Sector is an Executive Sales Position Responsible for External Sales within the Public Sector that is Responsible for:
  • Developing an effective go-to-market strategy for the Federal, State and Local accounts in the Washington, DC area.
  • Leveraging relationships and partner channels to acquire customers and drive revenue.
  • Establishing contracts and pricing strategies that will support long-term growth.
  • Identifying virtualization implementation status/plans and virtualization management and security pain points.
  • Managing complex sales campaigns while managing a diverse set of partners and systems integrators within the same accounts.
  • Matching the HyTrust Appliance solution to the customer’s business needs, challenges, and technical requirements. This includes developing a compelling business impact case to support the sale of the HyTrust Appliance.
  • Establishing strong working relationships with partners.

    Experience Required
  • 8+ years of a proven track record in the Public Sector.
  • Domain expertise in networking, security and/or virtualization solutions.
  • Experience selling in both a direct and an indirect or Channel driven model.
  • Experience leading a team of professionals in sales campaigns that involve coordinating sales executives, field SE’s, corporate engineers, corporate marketing and executive management.
  • Proven track record of success selling in a highly competitive environment.
  • Experience opening the market for an emerging technology company.
  • General management experience and security clearances are a plus.

Senior Software Engineer (Contractor-to-Hire)

Backend Engineering

Hytrust is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop HyTrust Appliance (HTA). We are interested in self-starters who are highly motivated and can work in a fast-paced and collaborative development environment. The candidate must have strong design and development skills in cloud computing, distributed architectures, security, and scalable enterprise applications.

    Responsibilities
  • Design and development of infrastructure components for Configuration, Security and Policy Management.
  • Development of virtualization and cloud software applications and services.
  • Work closely with Product Management, Project Teams and QA to define the product and deliver releases on time.
  • Design, develop and enhance product features for performance and scalability.

    Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of software development experience using full java application stack.
  • Strong skills using J2EE, Spring, SQL, Hibernate and JPA.
  • Virtualization/Cloud experience using VMWare SDKs.
  • Expertise creating and using Web-Services, SOAP and REST APIs.
  • Experience in Security technologies including AAA (authentication, authorization and auditing) Services, firewalls, SSL, PKI, RADIUS/Tacacs+ and hardening.
  • Strong capability to develop and debug multi-threaded server applications.
  • Linux or Unix proficiency.

    Other Desirable Skills
  • Database programming using Postgres, Oracle or MySQL is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with Java GUI frameworks like Wicket, GWT, Struts, Tapestry etc.

Contractor Systems Administrator

Infrastructure Engineering

HyTrust is seeking a Contractor Systems Administrator to manage an Apple OSX notebook fleet, corporate services, backups, network infrastructure and more. We are especially interested in people who automate their work. This is a unique opportunity for a systems administrator to be part of a talented and productive engineering team.

    Responsibilities
  • Maintain and provision Apple Macbook Pro systems and provide technical assistance.
  • Setup and run network monitoring and availability tools.
  • Perform routine maintenance on enterprise infrastructure.
  • Provision servers and blades.
  • Perform physical and network inventory and automated audit.
  • Work with development engineers to drive issues to resolution and closure.
  • Manage several storage devices using NFS and iSCSI with ethernet and fibre channel.
  • Perform root cause analysis of problems and isolate testing issues.
  • Virtualization experience in VMware or KVM.

    Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of systems administration experience.
  • Shell scripting in bash.
  • Working understanding of core TCP/IP networking including DNS, firewalls, SMTP.

Quality Assurance

Contractor QA Engineer

Candidate Profile: HyTrust is seeking a Contractor QA Engineer to help us improve the quality and performance of our award-winning flagship product. We are especially interested in people who can or have worked with the vCenter product family, including SRM, Linked Mode, vShield, vDR, etc.

The core task for this position is to verify working features and then work with development to capture bug information and verify fixes. The candidates we are looking for will have extensive experience in installation, configuration and administration of vSphere. We are also interested in any candidates that have experience with the newest features of vSphere. They will also need to be able to define their own plans, schedule and tracking of metrics. This is a fast moving and intensive project.

    Responsibilities
  • Develop and document test and use cases for testing the upcoming versions of HyTrust Appliance (HTA) with VMware products such as vCenter and ESXi.
  • Execute tests and record results during release cycles.
  • Report defects in bug reports.
  • Work with development engineers to drive issues to resolution and closure.
  • Perform root cause analysis of problems and isolate testing issues.

    Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of QA or mix of QA, IT, development experience (flexible and dependent upon individual candidate's experience and expertise).
  • Virtualization and networking experience.
  • Linux and Windows proficiency.
  • Understanding of QA methodology and process.
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful, flexible, self-motivated, and a quick-learner.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Start-up and security experience a plus.

    Technical Requirements
  • Deployment, management, extensive use and testing of VMware vSphere and ESXi.
  • System administration of Linux and/or Windows servers.
  • Demonstrable understanding of and experience with Role Based Access Control.
